Vive L’Empereur!
Look what arrived in the post today. As a huge fan of the Napoleonic wars, I had to get my hands on coinage from the era. This Franc was minted in Paris (see the ‘A’ mint mark on the obverse side) with Charles-Pierre de l’Espine, as the Mint Master, Monnaie de Paris (1797-1821.)

I like to use the photos from the auction site (in this case Vcoins) because my own photos are of poor quality!

I also trace much of my heritage to France (my grandmother was born there, and so was my father).
I am excited to add this piece to my collection.
Vive L’Empereur!
